Puppies and Babies!

Blue and Purple, now Jud and Ellie May, went to their new home today. They get to live on eight acres with cows, horses, ducks, pigs and an assortment of other animals. I’m soo happy they get to be little farm dogs, but I’m going to miss them.

Luckily I gave them to the guy who works across the way from the office and he’ll bring them to work. :)

This fits them so perfectly, too! Yellow has no clue what’s going on, Blue Jed is causing trouble, Purple Ellie May is nervous and Pink is happy as can be while Lulu just sits there.

We went and hung out with Daddie’s girlfriend and I got some cute pictures of her granddaughter, Gilly. She just turned two and is precious! I need to start taking more pictures. I’ve been slacking.

All About the Liver

It’s been a long, tiring, stressful past few days.  A lot has been going on and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT!

Friday morning I got a text from Momma.  I half read it, as I was still asleep on Daddie’s couch when I got it.  About 10 minutes later what I had read sunk in.  I’m pretty sure I gave Daddie a heart attack when I sprang up and said, “Liver!  Liver!  Did that say liver?  I think that said liver!  I think he got himself a liver!  Oh my God, it said liver!  HE GOT A FREAKING LIVER!”

Turns out, Papa got himself a nice new liver and he and Nana were headed to the hospital!  Momma came and got my after work where the next 19 hours were spent sitting in an ICU waiting room dodging horrendous kids, keeping our butts from falling asleep, and wondering why the hospital Wi-Fi would block Facebook.

Okay, so maybe it was just me wondering why they blocked Facebook.  But seriously.  Only jerks block Facebook!  Life saving jerks, but jerks nonetheless.  Had I not had it on my phone, It would’ve been a lot harder to keep people updated.

IMG_0800 I blame it on the Pibb.

I told Sissy, my half sister, what was going on and her response was, “Wow.  He was only on the list for 5 weeks?  That was quick!  It just means he’ll live though.  God wouldn’t have given him a liver so soon if it meant he was going to die.  That’d just be a waste of a live on God’s part and God isn’t wasteful.”  To be 15 again.

Momma tells the story in more detail and has interesting facts that are good to know.  As of this evening, he's doing well. While he was on bypass during the surgery though, his kidneys messed up a bit and were starting to fail afterwards. They caught it early enough though and he had dialysis. The doctor said he should only have to be on dialysis for a few more days before his kidneys start function on their own again and he can be taken out of ICU and put in a room. They had to put him back on the vent and he's having to be restrained because when he wakes up, he doesn't like the vent and tries to pull it out. That kind of makes me sad, but they said he should be off in the next day or so. His liver is producing factor VIII on its own now and besides not having cancer anymore, that part is pretty cool, too! It was a minor setback, but considering all he's been through the doctors say he's doing wonderfully!

And now, here’s a picture of puppies to make you feel better!

They went from itty bitty to HUGE in a matter of weeks:

Purple, less than a day old

Purple, 3 weeks and 5 days

I almost had a panic attack thinking about giving them away. AND THEY'RE ONLY PUPPIES!
I do not want to give my sweet and cuddly suddenly gigantic puppy babies away. They turned a month old yesterday which means they'll be gone in about three weeks and all I know is that whoever takes them home better have a Facebook and upload pictures frequently!

It's been a night, that's for sure!

About a week ago, Daddie's ex-wife called to tell me she thought my dog was pregnant. (I can't have pets where I live, other than my fish Finn Hudson, so she stays at her house with my brother and sister's dog.) One vet visit and $200 later, we find out that she is, in fact, pregnant. WITH AT LEAST FIVE PUPPIES!

Hello, babies!

Now, I don't know how anyone could look at her and NOT think she's pregnant, but whatever. Dogs are pregnant for about 65 days. That picture was taken a week and two days ago. Guess who's in the process of having their puppies?

Having puppies is hard, people!

That would be Tallulah! So far we're at two puppies. Which, holy crap! The sounds! Whoa, doggie.

Lulu's Birthing Suite

This is what the kitchen looks like at the moment. She's an outside dog, but there was NO WAY I was going to let my baby deliver outside if it was dark.

The big zebra printed bump in the background is Sissy. She refuses to miss anything so she has a pillow and blanket on the floor sleeping between births. She had me rolling when Lulu was first going into labor. "C'mon, Lulu! It's so easy a cave dog can do it! PUSH!"

I decided to tie a colored string around thier necks and that's what we'd call them. I wanted to be able to tell them apart, but didn't want to have to name them. I already know I'm going to be attached when we have to get rid of them. Naming them would just be too hard.

It's nice and quiet at the moment, but I would like those other puppies to get her soon, please! I have a bed to sleep in and a Flickr to update!

I have an excuse to post a picture!

Woohoo! Momma tagged me so here goes.

The rules...Go in your pictures folder & get the 10th picture from the first folder, give the story behind it and then tag 5 people to play along. Here’s my photo:

Nana and I went to the Botanical Gardens today. It was amazing. Spring is officially my favorite season because of all the colors and I've discovered that I love taking pictures of flowers.

I think this one is my favorite of today, if not ever. I love the flowers. I love the pink. I just love this picture!

I post pictures because I have nothing to write about.

Well, I do. Like my timing belt deciding it hates me and killing my car. 70 miles from home. An hour before sunset. That was fun, let me tell you! Riding the ferry back and forth for three hours waiting for Uncle Bubba and Nana to come get me and my friend.

I swear it was Bring All the Mexicans to Galveston Day. Now, I don't have anything against Mexicans. Just don't stare at me with a creepy smile on your face, speaking Spanish. THAT'S when I have a problem. And that's what every one of them did, too. Every. Single. One. I couldn't wait to get home and take a shower.

That night sucked. In case you ever wanted to lug around a laptop case, a camera case, a purse and school books for three hours in the cold without a jacket, DON'T! It makes you tired and cranky and wishing you had grabbed one of those unopened bottles of liquor out of your trunk.

Anyhow. I digress. Pictures:

(More here, of course!)
